Characteristics required:
Enjoyment at being around young children, including enthusiasm and patience (tons of it), as well as being adaptable as every day will bring new surprises and wonders.
A warm friendly smile to brighten every child's face each and every day.
The ability to take on the role of a superhero, monkey, pirate or dinosaur whilst reading a story upside down.
Be able to sing in tune or out of tune loudly to an audience of tiny humans who may happily just watch.
Warm hugs available as and when required or just a shoulder to rest on.
Eyes in the back of your head, all seeing and doing, yes, the children will believe you can see everything.
Comfortable leaving at the end of the day with unknown substances on your clothes, and in your hair.
And finally, to engage in a variety of activities including getting messy. Your hands and nails may be hard to maintain, but it really is worth it.
