The Nursery is managed by Suzanne Baldry, who has over 30 years childcare experience, 25 of these have been at Harvey Road.

 

Room Co-ordinators and senior staff all hold relevant childcare qualifications such as BTEC, NNEB, or a Diploma in pre-school practice. All staff have current paediatric first aid certification. All senior staff have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience.

 

All staff complete in-service training when they join the Nursery which is continually updated through meetings, supervisions and appraisals. As we believe that motivated staff who are up-to-date in current practice provide the best care for our children, training is high on our priorities.

 

We have a yearly planned training programme, much of which is completed in the staff members' own time. However, the Nursery is closed for two days during the year in order to deliver training to the whole team. Parents are given at least three months' notice of these closures.
