Healthy eating

We understand the importance of promoting and establishing a healthy eating practice from an early age. We provide freshly-prepared meals that are both varied and nutritious.  All of our menus have been checked and approved by the Food For Life nutritionist.  Once our babies are ready to start complementary food we work closely with parents and only use 'real' food no jars or packets.

Our chef cooks with no salt and limited sugar, with a preference for natural sugars if needed.  There is always a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and we even grow a few of our own in the nursery garden vegetable beds.

Parents can access the weekly menu on line.  We are always happy to support parents and advise regarding healthy eating.  We also welcome cultural or favourite menu suggestions from parents.  To read more about healthy eating visit our healthy eating policy

The children are provided with a mid morning snack and milk to drink.  Lunch is a main course followed by a healthy dessert.  Tea is a light meal consisting of a savoury dish followed again by a healthy desert with milk to drink.  Water is available all through the day.

We are proud to say we hold the highest Food Standard Award of 5 stars for Health and Hygiene and follow the Eat Better Start Better Initiative.
